Best Time to Dive in Malapascua
The dry season, between November and May, is generally considered to be the best time to dive in Malapascua, although conditions can be good all year round. With balmy average water temperatures of 28-29°C and excellent underwater visibility, divers have the best chance of seeing thresher sharks (one of the main draws of diving in Malapascua) in the dry months.
In particular, January to April is considered peak thresher shark season (thanks to great visibility), but you can see them at any time of year. It's worth noting that between the winter months of December and January, water temperatures can drop slightly to 25-26°C.
Diving is still possible during the rainy season (June to October), but conditions are more variable, with a chance of storms and less consistent visibility.
